Build or Die
Survive never ending waves of enemies attacking your town in this Idle City Builder game. Collect resources and scale your town by building as many structures as possible while defending yourself from enemies. However you're not in this alone: your little helper blobs gather resources and fight the incoming threats.
You can build farms to gather more experience points, use structures defensively, upgrade the Town Hall for bonus gatherer blobs, or set up a Barrack that spawns fighter blobs which turn the whole experience into an idle game.

Left click | Interact: pick up blobs, hit enemies and place structures |
Right click | Use on buildings to Upgrade or Demolish them! Also drag to scroll the camera around the world |

Numbers 1,2,3 Keypad 1,2,3 | Change the speed of the game (1x, 2x, or 3x) |
Units & Buildings
- Gatherer unit - identified by their little tools they use to pick up resources with, they constantly look for resources to be gathered.. unless an enemy is nearby, in which case they run to safety! Also, they might sometimes throw a hissy fit and stop working, so pinch them by their little heads and put them back to work.
- Combat unit - they patrol around the territory of your city and protect you against the enemy blobs, so you don't have to click them yourself.
- Farm - this building type generates Resources at a fixed rate.
- Barracks - trains Combat units at a fixed rate. The combat units it generates will have their home base set to their nearest Town Hall.
- Landmarks - cheap, varied decorations that serve the functional purpose of attracting enemies to attack them, while your combat units take them down.
- Town hall - creates more Gatherer units with each upgrade level.

This is really cute.
However, there's little in the way of progression.
I'd love to see more enemy types and unit upgrades.
In fact, upgrades of all kinds could be more substantial to keep the player interested.
Cute ^_^ With the last update it's easier to focus on building aspect. Although sometimes armed slimes gather on the one side, leaving the opposite one open :(
Thank you for the feedback! The little soldiers AI definitely needs a bit more work, but by increasing the town's territory it should become less likely for them to gather on any side. Thanks for giving it another try!
Why is it in the idle category? It's as idle as a typical RTS: You can idle, but you'll lose if you do it.
We've tried creating a combination between the classic city builders, idle games and civ managers into one as part of the GMTK2024 game jam, but we've unfortunately ran out of time in the balancing department.. so it ended up requiring too much interaction to be an idle game, but also too slow paced for a city builder :D
Hey! Since GMTK2024 is now over, we've updated the game to make it require less user interaction. You should rarely have to manually engage in combat, as the Barracks are cheaper and provide more combat power. What do you think about the changes?
